Incidentally, this is the month of December and the month of Gita Jayanti – The time when Krishna spoke Bhagavat Gita to Arjuna. On this occasion ISKCON temples distributes lakhs of Bhagavat Gita’s all across the world. The objective is of course that by reading Bhagavat Gita the lives of people would change for good and they will come closer to GOD who is the source of all happiness.

In this month we also do “SHASTRA DAAN” (donation of spiritual knowledge), where people sponsor certain number of Bhagavad Gitas and ISKCON Coventry distributes those Bhagavad Gitas to the spiritually inclined students at Universities, people and families who cannot afford it, libraries, hospitals, schools and public places in and around the Midlands and UK.
