Gita Jayanti 23rd Dec 2012

Nov 08, 2012

On the occasion of Gita Jayanti (23rd December 2012), ISKCON, Puducherry organizes a grand book distribution (Sastra Dana) Marathon. The marathon provides devotees with a unique opportunity to distribute the transcendental literature. This is a special month-long program to commemorate the teachings of Vedic wisdom spoken by Lord Sri Krishna 5000 years ago. His Divine Grace A. C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada, the Founder Acharya of ISKCON, encouraged his disciples to distribute the "Bhagavad Gita As It Is" all over the world. He set in motion the Bhagavad Gita Book Marathon. The purpose of the Sastra Dana  is to enlighten people with the spiritual information given by Srila Prabhupada in his books, and to enable devotees to participate directly in missionary activity by sponsoring and distributing Srila Prabhupada's books. If you would like to sponsor Bhagavad Gita's in December for the temple please contact the devotees. During this month we also visit as many homes as possible reading a chapter of Bhagavad Gita in various homes bringing the blessings of Lord Krishna upon the household and family.
